Rockwood has gone 8-1 against North Star recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Rockets will venture away from home to square off against the Cougars at 4:30 p.m. Rockwood will be strutting in after a win while North Star will be coming in after a defeat.
Rockwood had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Blacklick Valley on Friday. The Rockets blew past the Vikings 16-1. With that victory, the Rockets brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Paelyn Sanner made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Rockwood let Elika Pletcher and Emma Brown run wild. Pletcher went a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, four RBI, and two runs, while Brown went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave Pletcher a new career-high. Annah Sechler also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Rockwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, North Star was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Ferndale. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by just one run.
Morgan Snyder made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Swanson, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one double.
Rockwood's record is now 6-11. As for North Star, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.
Rockwood came out on top in a nail-biter against North Star in their previous meeting on Thursday, sneaking past 5-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
