After having lost a blowout in their previous game against A.C. Flora, Camden was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Dreher Blue Devils a 14-0 shutout. With that win, the Bulldogs brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.
Maddie Stokes made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jayden Kennedy was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three runs and three RBI. Rachel Martin also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Camden was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dreher only posted a batting average of .158.
The victory got Camden back to even at 7-7. As for Dreher, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.
Coming up, Camden will square off against Lugoff-Elgin at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Dreher will be paying especially close attention to the Bulldogs' match: after the Bulldogs face off against the Demons, they'll take on Dreher again at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
