Meanwhile, while Battlefield put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Unity Reed. The Bobcats blew past the Lions 14-0. With that win, the Bobcats brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.
McKenzie Pittman and Izabella Rodriguez were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Pittman tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Rodriguez kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. At the plate, Pittman got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Rodriguez got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run.
In other batting news, Abby Burns was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run. Lauren Wolf was another key player, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with two runs.
Battlefield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .926. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Osbourn's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Battlefield, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Osbourn hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .364. However, it's not like Battlefield struggles in that department as they've averaged .333. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
