Softball Recap: Joshua Wins Going Away Against North Side

Joshua came out on top against North Side on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive 12-run third inning. The Owls were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Steers. The Owls might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by eight runs or more this season.

Joshua got a massive performance out of Taylor Proffitt, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with four RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI Proffitt has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Landrie Durham, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Joshua was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .467 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Joshua has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.6 runs over those games. As for North Side, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-11.

Joshua will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Steers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
