We've got a battle between Mustangs coming up. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Perryville has five straight victories, Central Arkansas Christian has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Thursday, everything went Perryville's way against Rose Bud as Perryville made off with a 13-3 win. Fans of the Mustangs have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

A Goodwin was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. Goodwin is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Kharma Goodman, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Perryville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .513 or higher in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Central Arkansas Christian was a bit more limited in their game on Saturday. They came up short against Lonoke, falling 15-2.
Delaney Huffman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.
Perryville's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.3 runs. As for Central Arkansas Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
Perryville's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's contest. Perryville has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 8.6 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Central Arkansas Christian, though, as they've been averaging only 0.8 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Perryville continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Perryville's way against Central Arkansas Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Perryville made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Perryville since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
