Sultan is 0-10 against Cedar Park Christian since April of 2018 but things could change on Thursday. The Turks will venture away from home to square off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Sultan is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
Sultan is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since May 8, 2024 on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over South Whidbey. Those five runs were actually the fewest the Turks have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cedar Park Christian). Their pitchers stepped up to hand South Whidbey a 19-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by ten runs or more this season.
Isabela Stewart made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.
In other pitching news, Gianna Charlton looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high.
Back at the plate, Adelaide Foster was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Ella Meikle was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Cedar Park Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .475. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
The victory was the third in a row for Cedar Park Christian, bringing their record up to 9-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Sultan, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2.
Sultan might still be hurting after the 13-0 loss they got from Cedar Park Christian in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Turks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
