After losing to Sports Leadership & Management the last time they met, the Coral Gables Cavaliers decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Coral Gables narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Sports Leadership & Management 46-44.
Coral Gables got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Marcellis Williams out in front who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. The matchup was Williams 's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Berumen, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Coral Gables pushed their record up to 7-2 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Sports Leadership & Management, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coral Gables will be home for the holidays to greet South Dade at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Dade will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 558th, while Coral Gables is ranked 99th). Sports Leadership & Management and Doctors Charter will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
