The Lowellville Rockets will head out to take on the Memorial Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lowellville has five straight wins, Memorial has nine straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Tuesday, Lowellville got the win against Mathews by a conclusive 15-5.

Tyler Tuscano was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He is becoming a predictor of Lowellville's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't). Tuscano was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Lowellville let Kasen Smith and Kaden Primous run wild. Smith went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double, while Primous went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Lowellville is undefeated when Primous posts two or more runs, but 4-6 otherwise. Geno Perry was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Lowellville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Memorial lost 15-2 to Mineral Ridge on Monday.
Memorial saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bobby Ramirez, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Lowellville pushed their record up to 8-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.
Memorial's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lowellville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. It's a different story for Memorial, though, as they've only averaged .198. Will they be able to contain Lowellville's hitters?
Everything went Lowellville's way against Memorial when the teams last played on April 14th, as Lowellville made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
