Even though the Weir Red Riders scored an imposing 69 points on Friday, the Harrison Central Huskies still came out on top. Harrison Central was the clear victor by a 91-69 margin over Weir. Given Harrison Central's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 27th in Ohio, while Weir is ranked 278th in West Virginia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Weir still got an impressive performance from Colin Cross, who scored 31 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Corey Lyons, who scored 14 points.
Harrison Central's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Weir, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-1.
Harrison Central will take on Carrollton at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Weir, they will head out on the road to face off against Wheeling Park at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
