Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Beau Work and Kevyn Feldon Lead Two Roads Charter School to Victory

It was a Battle of the Birds when Two Roads Charter School challenged Rocky Mountain Lutheran on Tuesday. The Two Roads Charter School Falcons narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Rocky Mountain Lutheran Eagles 53-51. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

Two Roads Charter School was led to victory by Kevyn Feldon and Beau Work. Feldon posted 26 points and eight rebounds, while Work had 14 points and seven steals. The match was Feldon's third in a row with at least ten points. Nick Shevchuk was another key player, putting up six points.

Rocky Mountain Lutheran's loss came despite strong showings from Gavin Borchardt and Zack Rice. Borchardt dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 rebounds, while Rice went 7 of 9 on his way to 15 points and eight rebounds. Rice continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Two Roads Charter School is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Rocky Mountain Lutheran, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Two Roads Charter School will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Ascent Classical Academy Northern Colorado at 5:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025. After both having extra time off, Rocky Mountain Lutheran and Denver Jewish Day will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 6:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Rocky Mountain Lutheran has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
