The Randle Lions will face off against the Fort Bend Marshall Buffalos at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Randle came tearing into Thursday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by Huntsville at home to the tune of 35-6. Given Randle's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Huntsville is ranked 244th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Landen Callis-Williams, who rushed for 252 yards and four touchdowns on only 15 carries. Callis-Williams really tore up the turf during one magnificent 90-yard run.
Meanwhile, Fort Bend Marshall came tearing into Thursday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Dayton 41-7 at home.
Randle pushed their record up to 9-1 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-8 Lamar Consolidated and 2-8 Rudder (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37.2% over those games). As for Fort Bend Marshall, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.
