Baseball Recap: Alameda Wins Going Away Against Greeley Central

Alameda made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Greeley Central, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Alameda blew past Greeley Central 18-5 on Saturday. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by eight runs or more this season.

Alameda let Alan Chairez and Angel Arroyo run wild. Chairez fired off two home runs and seven RBI while going 2-for-3, while Arroyo fired off two home runs, three runs, and one double while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits Arroyo has posted since back in March of 2024. Vinny Arguello was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.

Alameda always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Alameda has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.7 runs. Greeley Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Alameda will be taking part in a tournament against Denver West at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Alameda is facing Denver West at the right time seeing as Denver West is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Greeley Central, they will challenge Roosevelt at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
