The Glenwood Springs Demons will take on the Eagle Valley Devils at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Glenwood Springs' favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Eagle Valley has been banged up by 13 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
On Wednesday, Glenwood Springs needed a bit of extra time to put away Basalt. They walked away with a 12-9 win over the Longhorns.
Jackson Irving was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Irving was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Evan Neuman, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Josh Doll was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Eagle Valley and Battle Mountain, and Battle Mountain kept the tradition alive. The Devils took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Huskies on Tuesday.
Eagle Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hudson Rozga, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Another was James Bivins, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.
Glenwood Springs has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Eagle Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.
Glenwood Springs took their win against Eagle Valley when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 18-6 score. Will the Demons repeat their success, or do the Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
