The Lake County Falcons will venture away from home to face off against the Milan Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Lake County will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
On Wednesday, Lake County made easy work of Liberty Tech Magnet and carried off a 15-2 win. With that victory, the Falcons brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Kenthia Thomas was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one hit any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kylie Walley, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Caren Johnson was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Lake County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .857. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Liberty Tech Magnet only posted an OBP of .250.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Milan's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Camden Central by a score of 6-5.
Camryn Green spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits.
At the plate, Milan saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mia Pearson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one double. Another was Rylee Hensley, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two RBI.
Lake County pushed their record up to 5-11 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Milan, their loss dropped their record down to 17-5.
Monday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Lake County has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .468. However, it's not like Milan struggles in that department as they've averaged .480. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lake County suffered a grim 18-2 defeat to Milan when the teams last played back in March. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
