The Franklin County Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Brookhaven, falling 72-38. While losing is never fun, Franklin County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 225th, while Brookhaven is ranked 53rd).
It was another big night for Jaylen Haliburton, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds for Brookhaven. That makes it three consecutive games in which Haliburton has scored at least 25% of Brookhaven's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jay Ross, who scored 16 points along with 3 steals.
Franklin County's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-5. As for Brookhaven, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklin County's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Bogue Chitto at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th. Brookhaven will take on Pearl at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pearl is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
