If the Millard Eagles were riding high off their 75-23 takedown of the Water Canyon Wildcats last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Millard fell 54-41 to Enterprise on Tuesday. Millard found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post nine fewer assists than your opponent.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Olivia Bassett, who scored 14 points along with three steals. Mary Stephenson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Enterprise got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaycee Barlow out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Eliza Balajadia, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Millard has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Enterprise, their win bumped their record up to 10-12.
Millard will head out on the road to take on Kanab at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kanab will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Millard surely won't give up without a fight. As for Enterprise, they will be playing at home against Beaver at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Beaver presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Enterprise in Utah (Beaver is ranked 17th, while Enterprise is ranked 72nd).
