Havre de Grace is 0-6 against Bohemia Manor since May of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Warriors are taking a road trip to square off against the Eagles at 3:30 p.m. Havre de Grace will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Havre de Grace proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by eight) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past North East 7-5.
Lilly Dalton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off 12 hits. Dalton was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Jalynn Ludd was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. Kinsey Mentzer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bohemia Manor). Everything went their way against C. Milton Wright on Wednesday as they made off with a 21-5 win. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Like Havre de Grace, Bohemia Manor also got a great game from a two-way player: Lyla Wescoat (2027). She tossed five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Wescoat (2027) has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Bohemia Manor got a massive performance out of Elizabeth Marcum (2027), who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kylee Bergman (2025) Salisbury, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Bohemia Manor always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .610. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as C. Milton Wright only posted an OBP of .360.
Havre de Grace's record now sits at 14-4. As for Bohemia Manor, their record is now 15-4.
Havre de Grace's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's matchup. The Warriors have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Bohemia Manor, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Havre de Grace continue to outrun the ball?
