If the Lebanon Trail Trail Blazers were feeling good off their 39-18 takedown of the Liberty Redhawks last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Lebanon Trail took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Centennial on Friday. Lebanon Trail lost against Centennial in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 14-10 score last time.
Zach Hare threw for 45 yards and a touchdown. Lowery Asel was his top target, picking up 56 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Centennial had a senior duo take command as Harry Stewart iii rushed for 176 yards and a touchdown and Jace Patton threw for 107 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Lebanon Trail to a paltry 157 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Centennial's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid the passer out 6.5 times before it was all said and done. The heavy lifting was done by Nicholas Morrow and Jackson Hand who racked up 4.5 sacks between them.
Lebanon Trail bumped their record down to 2-8 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 12.0 points per game. As for Centennial, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-6.
Lebanon Trail does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Centennial also has no future games currently scheduled.
