Little River Academy is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Hitchcock is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Little River Academy Bumblebees will take on the Hitchcock Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Little River Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 220th, while Hitchcock is ranked 82nd).
Last Friday, Little River Academy was the victim of a rough 49-28 loss at the hands of Franklin. Little River Academy has struggled against Franklin recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Brian Grissom, who rushed for 68 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Another player making a difference was Cavalli Nealy, who rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Hitchcock put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season two weeks ago. They blew past Hallettsville 54-22 at home.
Franklin's win bumped their season record to 9-1 while Little River Academy's defeat dropped theirs to 8-2.
