Blue Springs extended the longest winning streak in Suburban - Gold this week by beating Lee's Summit North, 61-13. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
The Broncos made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,763 from 6,325. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 61-13 victory over Lee's Summit North last week.
Blue Springs' dynamic duo of Wylson Lamb and Darrius Shepherd proved tough for Ty Kohl's team to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Lamb threw for 226 yards and two touchdowns and Shepherd had 123 yards receiving. Hayden Combs helped Blue Springs' passing attack out by catching one ball for 47 yards.
Khorey Kilgore was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 123 yards on 17 carries as Blue Springs South topped the Broncos. Trey Ervin also contributed to the rushing game with 27 yards on the ground.
6-foot-2 quarterback Dalton Brewer of the Jaguars is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1165. He has also thrown 13 touchdowns. On the ground, the Wildcats' Dalvin Warmack has rushed for 1645 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Shepherd. The Blue Springs star has 32 catches for 599 yards.
The marquee game in Suburban - Gold this week will be the clash between Blue Springs and Liberty. The Wildcats enters the game ranked third in the state, while the Bluejays ranks 17th.
In 123 carries Kilgore has accumulated 945 yard this year.
