This season hasn't been kind to the Apprentice Academy Red Wolves, who are still winless after their ninth contest. They took a serious blow against Valor Preparatory Academy on Wednesday, falling 82-30. Apprentice Academy has not had much luck with Valor Preparatory Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Bishop Witherspoon was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points for Valor Preparatory Academy. Witherspoon is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Darrell Caldwell, who scored 16 points.
Apprentice Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Valor Preparatory Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Apprentice Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Carolina International at 6:30 p.m. on January 25th. Carolina International knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Apprentice Academy likes a good challenge. As for Valor Preparatory Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Queen's Grant at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
