The Strasburg Indians waltzed into their matchup Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They breezed by Byers at home to the tune of 77-47. Given Strasburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Byers is ranked 110th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Strasburg got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyce Bollers out in front who scored 19 points along with four steals. The contest was Bollers' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Landen Martin, who scored 15 points along with seven assists and three steals.
Byers lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Quincy Eacret, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Long, who scored eight points along with five assists and three steals.
Strasburg pushed their record up to 3-0 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Byers, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Strasburg's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Sterling at 4:00 p.m. on December 5th. Byers and Bennett will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Allowing an average of 52.3 points per game, Bennett has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this match.
