Washington Union has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against The Kerman Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Washington Union is ranked 347th, while Kerman is ranked 348th).
Last Friday, Washington Union lost to Central Valley Christian at home by a decisive 42-24 margin.
Despite the defeat, Washington Union got a solid performance out of Jason Torres, who threw for 418 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt. Marcus Watkins jr also helped out as he racked up 143 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Kerman can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 47-21 margin over Selma. Kerman didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.
Kerman found their leader in underclassman Adrian Torres, who rushed for 28 yards and a touchdown. Dalton Stefano also helped out with an impressive 85 receiving yards.
Central Valley Christian's victory bumped their season record to 8-1 while Washington Union's defeat dropped theirs to 3-6.
Washington Union strolled past Kerman in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 by a score of 14-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Washington Union since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
