Basketball Recap: Winslow Skates Past St. Johns with Ease

There's no place like home for Winslow, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They took their matchup on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 78-45 victory over the St. Johns Redskins. That 33 point margin sets a new team best for the Bulldogs this season.

Winslow had a senior duo take command as Isaac David dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds and Izaak Panana went 9 of 13 on his way to 23 points and five assists. The contest was David's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Curtis, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 10 points along with five boards and four steals.

Winslow smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in February of 2024.

With the win, Winslow broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-8. As for St. Johns, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-9.

Winslow will welcome Show Low at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Johns, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Madison Highland Prep at 7:30 p.m. Madison Highland Prep will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something St. Johns surely won't give up without a fight.
