The Carter Green Hornets pushed their score all the way to 68 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Jellico by a score of 70-68. Carter has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Carson Bolton was his usual excellent self, scoring 46 points along with eight rebounds for Jellico. The game was Bolton's 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dre Webb, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Carter has fallen quite a ways from their 25-10 record last season and are now at 5-8. As for Jellico, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-7.
Carter will head out on the road to face off against Anderson County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jellico won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against West Ridge at 8:00 p.m. on December 28th.
