The DuQuoin Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Harrisburg by a score of 62-59. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Saturday (56), DuQuoin still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, DuQuoin still got an impressive performance from Eli Maynor, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Maynor is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Da'Marion Johnson, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
DuQuoin bumped their record down to 4-10 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Harrisburg, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.
DuQuoin will play host again and welcome Nashville, where tip off is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Nashville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than DuQuoin in Illinois (Nashville is ranked 186th, while DuQuoin is ranked 493rd). Harrisburg will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Herrin at 6:15 p.m. on January 12th. Herrin is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
