Purvis and Lamar Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. Both teams will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Purvis comes in on four and Lamar Christian on three.
Last Tuesday, Purvis strolled past Sacred Heart with points to spare, taking the game 67-48.
Purvis had a senior duo take command as Bredren Elenus scored 18 points along with 7 rebounds and Jacoby Robinson scored 17 points along with 3 steals. The match was Elenus 's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Vann Brewer was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
Meanwhile, Lamar Christian humbled Laurel Christian with a 70-30 victory. Given Lamar Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 57th, while Laurel Christian is ranked 214th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Purvis has yet to lose a contest on the road this season, leaving them with a 4-0 record. As for Lamar Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
Purvis strolled past Lamar Christian when the teams last played back in December of 2022 by a score of 61-45. Does Purvis have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lamar Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
