The Lutheran Lions came tearing into Tuesday's match with 12 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against Lewis-Palmer as Lutheran made off with a 72-46 win. Lutheran has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 26 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lutheran to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hunter Caldwell, who shot 4-for-5 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 21 points and 18 rebounds. Caldwell hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Braydon Jacob, who scored 22 points.
Lewis-Palmer lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Noah Johnson, who scored 13 points. Cohen Edmondson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
Lutheran pushed their record up to 13-2 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.3 points per game. As for Lewis-Palmer, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lutheran will take on Air Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Allowing an average of 55.2 points per game, Air Academy has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this match. As for Lewis-Palmer, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Discovery Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Discovery Canyon is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57 points per game.
