Elizabeth won the last time they faced Oratory Prep and things went their way on Friday too. The Minutemen blew past the Rams 7-1. The Minutemen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Eliezer Cepeda made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Jaime Tamayo and Ian Acevedo did most of the damage at the plate: Tamayo got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Acevedo got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Albert Maldonado also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Elizabeth is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Oratory Prep, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4.

Coming up, Elizabeth will challenge Union Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Vikings will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Oratory Prep, they will square off against Brearley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
