The Keller Central Chargers were the 67-66 winner over the V.R. Eaton Eagles when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Keller Central took a 45-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of V.R. Eaton. While losing is never fun, Keller Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 378th, while V.R. Eaton is ranked 141st).
Despite the loss, Keller Central still got an impressive performance from Jordan Blair, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. That was a full 41.5% of Keller Central's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Mays, who scored 12 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Keller Central and nudges their season record down to 11-16. As for V.R. Eaton, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Keller Central will take on Southlake Carroll at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for V.R. Eaton, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Timber Creek at 7:00 a.m. Timber Creek has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 28.
