The Eagles can attribute much of their success to Lexi Mendez, who scored 19 points along with two steals, and Cherish Carson, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Mendez has scored at least a third of the Eagles' points.
Haywood Christian Academy played against Bethel Christian Academy and lost via forfeit.
The Eagles are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Haywood Christian Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Bethel Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Haywood Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, winning 36-25. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bethel Christian Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
