After three games on the road, Valley Center is heading back home. They will take on The Westview Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two weeks ago, Valley Center's game was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They strolled past Escondido with points to spare, taking the game 28-13.
Kevin Garcia had a dynamite game for Valley Center, picking up 98 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Mitchell, who threw for 194 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Westview made easy work of Escondido on Friday and carried off a 35-14 win. The result was nothing new for Westview, who have now won three contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Westview can attribute much of their success to Amare Gomez, who gained 156 total yards and three touchdowns, and Mason Walsh, who threw for 242 yards and three touchdowns.
Valley Center has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 3-5 record this season. As for Westview, their victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-3.
