Football Recap: Dwight Shade Leads Buchtel's Defense on Friday

Buchtel won the last time they faced Ellet and things went their way on Friday too. The Griffins came out on top against the Orangemen by a score of 27-20. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Griffins.

Daurean Johnson went supernova, picking up 128 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Those 128 receiving yards gave him a new career-high. Dwight Shade was in the mix as well, providing Buchtel with one TD.

Buchtel didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Shade, Quadire Harvey, and Mehki Wright picked up one apiece. Buchtel received some extra help from Shade, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Buchtel picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-5. As for Ellet, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
