The Joliet West Tigers won the last time they faced the Plainfield Central Wildcats, and things went their way on Thursday too. Joliet West came out on top against Plainfield Central by a score of 61-49. Given Joliet West's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while Plainfield Central is ranked 472nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Maziah Shelton continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 35 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Makayla Chism, who scored ten points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Joliet West and bumps their season record up to 15-12. As for Plainfield Central, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-22.
Joliet West will square off against Bloom at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bloom will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Joliet West surely won't give up without a fight. Plainfield Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
