The Cypress Falls Eagles will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Tomball Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Cypress Falls will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Even though Cypress Falls has not done well against Cypress Ranch recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Cypress Falls enjoyed a cozy 38-23 win over Cypress Ranch. Cypress Falls' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Cypress Falls' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chase Ferrell led the charge by picking up 168 receiving yards. Ferrell's longest reception was for an incredible 73 yards. Reid Meekins also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
Meanwhile, Tomball was the victim of a rough 35-13 defeat at the hands of Klein Cain on Saturday. Tomball has not had much luck with Klein Cain recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Koby Fosher put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 160 yards.
Cypress Falls has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. As for Tomball, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Cypress Falls has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 193.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Tomball struggles in that department as they've been averaging 164.9 per game. It's looking like Friday's matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches.
