The Liberty Union Lions will head out to square off against the Danville Blue Devils at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Liberty Union is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
Liberty Union barely beat Grove City Christian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Eagles on Saturday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Lions considering their two-run performance the game before.

Holdyn Burnette made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Tanner Farmer and Chase Swayne did most of the damage at the plate: Farmer got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Swayne went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs Swayne has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Thomas, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Danville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Northside Christian an 8-0 shutout on Saturday. The Blue Devils' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Liberty Union pushed their record up to 9-1-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Danville, the win was their first at home, bumping their record up to 2-5.
Liberty Union came out on top in a nail-biter against Danville when the teams last played back in May of 2025, sneaking past 4-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
