Having just played yesterday, the Charleston Catholic Irish will get right back to it and host the Poca The Dots at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. Charleston Catholic will be strutting in after a victory while Poca will be coming in after a loss.
On Wednesday, Charleston Catholic strolled past Buffalo with points to spare, taking the game 48-32.
Charleston Catholic found their leader in underclassman Mary Rushworth, who scored 26 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rushworth has scored all season. Aurelia Kirby was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six assists and two steals.
Meanwhile, Poca's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by Nitro on the road and fell 69-22. While losing is never fun, Poca can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while Nitro is ranked 11th).
Charleston Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Poca, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.
