Trivium Prep is 1-0 against San Pasqual Valley since September of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Trivium Prep Crimson Knights will head out on the road to face off against the San Pasqual Valley Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Trivium Prep pushed their score all the way to 37 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Parker by a score of 39-37.
Vern Wolfley put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 176 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also threw for 268 yards and a touchdown. Wolfley was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. Another player making a difference was Matthew Lee, who picked up 113 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to San Pasqual Valley, who are still winless after their eighth matchup. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 36-14 walloping at the hands of NFL Yet Academy on Friday.
San Pasqual Valley's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Alex Acuna, who rushed for 143 yards on only 14 carries, and Elias Espinoza who rushed for 122 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry.
Trivium Prep's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-0 Arizona Lutheran Academy and 5-3 Scottsdale Preparatory Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 68.8% over those games). As for San Pasqual Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
Everything went Trivium Prep's way against San Pasqual Valley when the teams last played back in September of 2017 as Trivium Prep made off with a 44-20 win. Will Trivium Prep repeat their success, or does San Pasqual Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
