Meanwhile, Springwood waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 87-84 win over Glenwood. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Springwood has posted yet this season.
Springwood's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Micah Thomas led the charge by scoring 26 points along with seven assists and three steals. Thomas continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Westbrook, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Lee-Scott Academy pushed their record up to 19-2 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points per game. As for Springwood, their victory bumped their record up to 16-5.
Lee-Scott Academy took their win against Springwood when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 77-56. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Thomas, who scored 18 points along with four steals.
