AA District 8 recap November 13, 2013
Upperman's Connor York rumbled for the longest rushing play in AA District 8 this season in his game against Grundy County last week. York ran for 91 yards on the play and finished with 125 on the day as his team topped the Yellowjackets.
Upperman extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Grundy County, 56-20. The victory was the 11th in a row for Ben Herron's team.
Upperman's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Bees feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. York has thrown for 1,811 yards and 31 touchdowns this season, while Robert Stephenson has 13 catches for 249 yards. York also leads the league in rushing with 1,872 yards.
The Bees' York is within 189 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against Tyner Academy.
DeKalb County fell to Knoxville Catholic 55-13 last week, the largest margin of any game.
