Holy Cross is 2-8 against Bishop Loughlin since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Sunday. The Holy Cross Knights will be home for the holidays to greet the Bishop Loughlin Lions at 3:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Holy Cross struggled with assists on Tuesday (Archbishop Stepinac had 17 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Holy Cross was dealt a 76-39 defeat at the hands of Archbishop Stepinac. Holy Cross has not had much luck with Archbishop Stepinac recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite their loss, Holy Cross saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Dylan Stanley, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Moreno, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Bishop Loughlin had to suffer through a rough 106-48 loss at the hands of Cobble Hill. Bishop Loughlin was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-26.
Holy Cross' defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Bishop Loughlin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.
Holy Cross came up short against Bishop Loughlin when the teams last played back in February, falling 74-64. Can Holy Cross avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
