The Regents Knights waltzed into their game Thursday with four straight wins but they left with five. They came out on top against Pantego Christian by a score of 64-57. Given Regents' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 336th, while Pantego Christian is ranked 679th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aj Brooks, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. Tristan Brown was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with four steals.
Regents has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Pantego Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.
Regents is on the road again on Friday and play against Faith Academy at 10:15 a.m. on December 29th. Pantego Christian and The Christian School at Castle Hills will round out the year against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at.
