It was a good run, but the Bullard Knights unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Saturday. They were beaten by Weston Ranch 94-53. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Bullard has suffered yet this season.
Weston Ranch was led to victory by Darrion Lilly and Richard Banks. Lilly scored 30 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Banks scored 23 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Banks continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mateen Rafiq, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
Bullard's defeat dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Weston Ranch, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-3.
Bullard and San Joaquin Memorial will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (San Joaquin Memorial is ranked 128th, while Bullard is ranked 127th). As for Weston Ranch, Weston Ranch and Edison will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Edison is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
