Isabella Webb continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 23 points and ten rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Amaris Biancuzzo, who posted seven points and 17 boards.
Meanwhile, Catalina Foothills took their game on Thursday with ease, bagging a 63-20 win over Canyon del Oro. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 contests by 20 points or more this season.
Mica Mountain better keep an eye on Clara Mae Hager. She was instrumental in Catalina Foothills' win, putting up 19 points in addition to seven assists and five steals. Mercy Martinez was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and 13 rebounds.
Catalina Foothills smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.
Catalina Foothills pushed their record up to 20-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 41.3 points. As for Mica Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 20-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Mica Mountain has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32 boards per game. However, it's not like Catalina Foothills struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Mica Mountain couldn't quite finish off Catalina Foothills in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 and fell 64-61. Can Mica Mountain avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
