The Swallows Charter Academy Spartans can finally bid farewell to their 26-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 47-25 margin over Trinidad. Swallows Charter Academy's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Leading Swallows Charter Academy to victory were Andrew Breedlove and Charles Perry. Breedlove scored 14 points along with seven rebounds, while Perry scored 14 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Vinson, who scored five points along with seven rebounds.
Swallows Charter Academy's victory ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-6. As for Trinidad, their loss was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-4.
Swallows Charter Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Hoehne at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Hoehne focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 last Saturday. As for Trinidad, they will head out on the road to face off against Raton at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Raton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Trinidad in their respective states (Raton is ranked 43rd in New Mexico, while Trinidad is ranked 320th in Colorado).
