Franklin hasn't had much luck against Eagle Rock recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Kaela Remias made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Candace Macias, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Eagle Rock, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over Marshall on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Barristers: they've now won seven in a row.
Marcella Terrazas was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Terrazas was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Terrazas wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was AJ Jimenez, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits Jimenez has posted since back in March.
Eagle Rock's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Franklin, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Franklin has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .432. However, it's not like Eagle Rock struggles in that department as they've averaged .448. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
