There's no place like home for the Northview Vikings, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Chino on Friday and snuck past 74-72. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
When it comes to explaining why Chino lost, one person who can't be blamed is Shawn Jamison Jr. Despite the final result, he scored 42 points along with three steals. Jamison Jr scored a full 58.3% of Chino's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Manuel Alba was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten assists.
Northview's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.1 points per game. As for Chino, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.
Northview and Charter Oak will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Charter Oak will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 849th, while Northview is ranked 421st). As for Chino, they will square off against Lakewood at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
