Chase has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Central Plains Oilers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Chase comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 19 points in their last eight games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Chase struggled with assists last Friday (Ellinwood had 11 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Chase was beaten by Ellinwood 60-5. Chase was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-2.
Luke Miller was Chase's leading scorer, having posted three points.
Layton Winkelman held things down on the boards with six rebounds. He took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with an assist.
Meanwhile, Central Plains waltzed into their contest on Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They were the clear victor by a 52-30 margin over Victoria. Central Plains has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 22 points or more this season.
Chase bumped their record down to 0-8 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Central Plains, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Chase was dealt a bruising 91-12 loss at the hands of Central Plains in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Chase was down 61-5.
