Wilson's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Logan Murray, who went 7 of 14 on her way to 17 points and seven rebounds. Murray is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was LeaNISSA Swinton, who posted eight points in addition to ten boards and four steals.
Wilson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Florence only pulled down seven offensive boards.
Meanwhile, 1 of 1 Academy is ranked highly in their home state and on Monday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Central Pointe Christian Academy. 1 of 1 Academy came out on top against Central Pointe Christian Academy by a score of 57-50. The win was nothing new for the - as they're now sitting on three straight.
Wilson better keep an eye on Alyssa Hankerson. She was instrumental in 1 of 1 Academy's win, going 6 for 14 en route to 17 points and six rebounds. That's the most boards Hankerson has posted since back in October of 2024. Alana Hankerson was another key player, putting up nine points and four steals.
1 of 1 Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Wilson, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Wilson has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 34.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like 1 of 1 Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Wilson suffered a grim 72-50 defeat to 1 of 1 Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Wilson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
