Volleyball Recap: Highland Beats Copley for Their Third Straight Win

Highland took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Copley, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Hornets had just enough and edged out the Indians 3-2 on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Hornets sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Highland was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-27, 15-25, 27-25, 15-11.

Kamryn Heldreth paced Highland's offense, picking up 20 kills. Heldreth got some help from Payton Hrics and her 26 assists. Finally, Heldreth was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

When it comes to explaining why Copley lost, don't look at Jayli Owens. Despite the final result, she had 26 digs and two aces. Owens has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Highland's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Copley, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.
